Mission: SAVAR provides crisis intervention services and counseling for victims of sexual assault and educates the community about sexual assault issues. SAVAR is a program of Cayuga Counseling Services.
Services:
Crisis intervention for individuals, families or groups - SAVAR advocates are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week; Advocates provide information and will also accompany victims through medical, law enforcement, and judicial procedures; Short and Long-Term Counseling for victims, their families and friends is provided by Certified Social Workers, MSW, CSW; SAVAR provides education programs to schools, day care centers, human service agencies, and businesses; Speakers and training are available to provide information on child sexual abuse, acquaintance rape, sexual assault prevention and sexual harassment; SAVAR can provide referrals to lawyers and other service providers; SAVAR services are free to victims, their family members and friends; and SAVAR assists victims of violent crimes to file for compensation through the Crime Victim Board.

Mission: A not-for-profit agency dedicated to assisting and supporting individuals with disabilities, their families, and the community. Seneca Cayuga ARC provides opportunities and choices for treatment, employment, education, recreation, and community living to assist individuals with disabilities in realizing a productive and fulfilling life. It is a chapter of NYSARC, Inc. a statewide, family-based, not-for-profit organization working with and for people with mental retardation and other developmental disabilities. Seneca Cayuga ARC is a member of The ARC, a national organization supporting individuals with mental retardation and developmental disabilities, and a member agency of the United Way of Cayuga and Seneca Counties.
Services:
Camp Columbus -Located on Owasco Lake, a summer day camp for children and adults with developmental disabilities with activities including field sports, stories, drama, aerobics, arts & crafts, and swimming instruction.
Community Services - Provides support to persons with developmental disabilities and their families living independently in the community. In Cayuga County, services provided are service coordination, family reimbursement, Alzheimer's respite and Alzheimer's Day Program and consumer-directed personal assistance program. Respite for the elderly is offered in conjunction with Office For the Aging.
Day Habilitation - Services are designed to provide general assistance to persons to acquire and maintain those life skills that enable them to cope more effectively with their environments. Individual service programs include training in mobility, transportation, health related activities, and some recreational activities. People work to develop appropriate social skills, communication skills, safety and health care skills, housekeeping and personal care skills and money management skills. Individuals with a greater degree of independence are assisted in becoming a part of the community at large.
Gordon Eadie Activity Center - Provides one day of activities for people with memory loss, confusion and Alzheimer's disease. The program is designed to meet individual needs and to promote an environment that is safe and stimulating, while allowing caregivers needed time away.
Residential Services - Offers choices in living arrangements for adults with developmental disabilities - eight Individual Residential Alternatives (IRA's) in Cayuga County plus single-family homes in which 3 to 12 people receive 24-hour supervision, guidance, and support from staff. Supportive IRA's are also available for persons who are prepared for a more independent lifestyle and who do not require 24-hour supports.
Residential Habilitation - Offers services to build skills necessary to perform activities that would continuously occur in the individual's home, such as personal grooming, training in household chores, food preparation and may take place in the home, an OMRDD-certified family care home, or a certified IRA.
Transportation - Services are provided to and from their homes for individuals enrolled in agency programs.
Vocational Services - Provided through Seneca Cayuga Industries, where services are offered fit the employment needs of the individual, enabling each person to work at his/her optimum skill level, while earning a paycheck. Options include pre-vocational training and support in maintaining job skills to individuals with little or no job history, assisting them in developing and maintaining job skills; sheltered work that provide transitional and/or long term employment in a controlled and protected working environment; and supported employment in the community at other company or organization sites; or job placement/competitive employment where the individual is matched with a competitive, community job. Follow-up services are provided to the employer and the employee to ensure a positive working relationship.
Karl D. Warner Clinic - Provides individuals with developmental disabilities convenient access to a wide variety of habilitative services, including psychiatry, occupational therapy, psychology, physical therapy, social work, nursing services, speech services, nutrition and rehabilitation counseling.
FAME - Formed in 1999 in an effort to provide opportunities for people with disabilities to use their creative potential through practicing and demonstrating their personal talents. Activities include singing, dancing, improvisational acting, as well as costume making and set construction. FAME productions include several dinner theater performances, most recently "Airplane 2î. FAME was recently named the recipient of the 2004 Special Award for Inclusion in the Performing Arts, which is an Achievement Award from the NYS developmental Disabilities Planning Council in Albany.

Stafkings Healthcare works with and will most likely accept assignment from most Blue Cross/Blue Shield, private or commercial health insurance, HMO's, Workers Compensation, and no fault insurance or you may choose to pay privately. In most counties, Medicare and Medicaid patients receive services through Veterans Administration, Office for Aging, Hospice, or Dept. of Health & Human Services.

Mission: Success by 6 is a United Way National Initiative to make early childhood development a priority and enhance the capacity of parents and the community to address the developmental needs of all children in this county.
Services:
Initiate and support innovative programs that encourage the healthy development of children and their families. However, no direct services are offered to children or their families.
Raise community awareness regarding the importance of the early years by disseminating educational materials into the community as well as supporting projects, activities and partnerships that promote the healthy developments of children and their families.
Support programs, projects, and activities that promote and encourage the development of early pre-literacy skills such as Reach Out and Read, Traveling Books, Literacy in the Park, Raising a Reader, Bring on the Books, Annual Community Book Drive, and Seanna's Little Bookcase system.
Volunteer Opportunities: Readers to young children; Book drive organizers, Donations of children's books for ages 0 -8 years (may be dropped at the E. John Gavras Center throughout the year), and Community members to participate in the initiative's monthly meetings.
