Mission: NAMI is a non-profit organization providing support, education and advocacy to families and friends of people experiencing serious and persistent psychiatric illness.
Services: A Support Group meeting every 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month at 6:00pm at Auburn Memorial Hospital, 2nd floor Assembly Room. NAMI¹s Family-to-Family Education Program is offered periodically. It is a 12-week course for families of individuals with severe brain disorders (mental illness) and it teaches the knowledge and skills that family members need to cope more effectively. Through advocacy and collaboration with other organizations in the community, NAMI seeks to improve access to mental health services and support family members.

Mission: A Novel Idea is a community development project of Cayuga Counseling Services. It is organized to be operated by youth and adults who are committed to improving the quality of life in Auburn by promoting drug and alcohol free activities, art, music and community service.
Services: A Bookstore/Café selling gently read books, CD¹s and arts and crafts by consignment in a comfortable setting-with seating, coffee and desserts.
Live music and entertainment open to the public; public displays of art work; computers; a drug/alcohol and smoke free-space that is available to community members of all ages.
A community meeting room is available for small groups (The space is available to rent for meetings, workshops and private parties).
Youth services include tutoring/mentoring; promoting community events and community service; and providing employment and promoting entrepreneurship.
Monthly newsletter listing events, recipes, CD reviews and movie reviews.
Activities include on-line creative writing class, local author book signings, a poetry reading, open mic night, local and importedÝbands, movie nights with free popcorn, political/governmentÝdiscussion group, open musical jam sessions with the staffÝand tributes to classic rock bands and basic craft supplies for those interested in making collages or painting posters.
