HOMELESS/AT-RISK SERVICES (Cayuga County)

Cayuga County Homeless Task Force - Beginning in 2002 and continuing through 2004, Continuum of Care planning for coordination of needs, potential activities, and potential funding for homeless services resulted in the preparation of the Auburn/Cayuga County Continuum of Care (C of C) which was submitted to US Dept. of Housing and Urban Development in July, 2004. Data collected in 2003 and 2004 (thru 6/30/04) indicate that over the 18-month period that 904 people were homeless or at risk of being homeless. A Point in Time Count was taken on July 28, 2004 determined that 91 people were homeless/at-risk on that day. The C of C application, if approved and funded, will provide new funding to the community for services to address at-risk/homeless issues.
