Information and Support Services:
Caregiver Support Program (315) 253-1103
Provides support, counseling, home visits, and referral services to help caregivers through the caregiving experience. Maintains a lending library of information on Alzheimer's disease and caregiving, sponsors workshops for caregivers, and offers a Caregiver Respite Program. Contact Nancy Siefka at 253-1103.
Support Groups (315) 252-2781
There are two support groups for caregivers of individuals with Alzheimer's disease or dementia that meet the first Tuesday of the month at 1:30 p.m. and the third Thursday of the month at 7:30 p.m. at Mercy Health & Rehabilitation Center, 3 St. Anthony Street, Auburn.

CNY Alzheimer's Disease Assistance Center (ADAC) (877) 464-5540
Located at University Hospital in Syracuse, the center's geriatricians and staff provide diagnosis and case management for persons with dementia, as well as educational activities, conferences, seminars, lectures and workshops for caregivers.
National Institute on Aging, Alzheimer's Disease Education and Referral Center (800) 438-4380
Provides information about Alzheimer's disease, including information on research, treatment and support. Website www.alzheiver.org.
Respite Services:
Alzheimer's Respite Program (315) 255-2286, ext 412
Provides up to $500 in financial assistance per year to help pay for any combination of respite care services. The care may be provided by friends, neighbors, family members, professionals, day care, or temporary residential placement. Contact Terri DeJohn at Seneca-Cayuga ARC at 255-2286, x412.
Caregiver Respite Program (315) 253-1103
Offers help with funding respite services. Targets low-income families where the care-recipient is age 60 or older. Contact Nancy Siefka at 253-1103.
Day Programs:
Gordon Eadie Activity Center Day Program (315) 253-6519
Offers respite for family members while providing a safe, supportive environment for persons with memory loss and confusion. Participants enjoy social and activity programs, snacks, and a nutritious luncheon meal. This day program is located at the Church of the Nazarene on Route 20 in Auburn and is open on Tuesdays from 9:00 AM to 3:45 PM. The program cost is $34.00 for a full day and scholarship help is available based on family income. The program is operated by Seneca-Cayuga ARC, and further information can be obtained by calling 253-6519 on Tuesdays or 255-2286, x407 on other days of the week.

Safety Services:
Safe Return Program (315) 253-1103
SAFE RETURN is a nationwide system designed to locate, identify, and safely return individuals with dementia who wander and become lost. Identification products, including a bracelet, necklace, and clothing labels are provided, and the individual is registered in the national data base which can be accessed by a 24-hour, toll free number. The database can be utilized to learn the individual's identity and to contact family. There is a one-time fee to help offset the costs of registration and identification products.
