Continuing their journey to defend their Section III, Class B title, the fifth-seeded Skaneateles boys soccer team added another victory, taking No. 4 seed Mount Markham 2-1 in the quarterfinals in Mount Markham Friday.
Kyle Baier and Kelly Donigan both posted one goal for the Lakers, while Spencer Parker finished with an assist.
Jake Bird tallied eight saves for Skaneateles, who led 1-0 at the half.
The Lakers will move on to face the No. 1 seed, Clinton in the semifinals, at a site and date yet undetermined.

Watertown IHC 3, Skaneateles 1
With their only goal coming in the first half by Amanda Gray unassisted, the ninth-seeded Lakers fell to the No. 1 Cavaliers.
Erica Tardiff collected 11 saves in the effort for Skaneateles.
“They played a great game considering it was against the No. 1 seed,” Lakers coach Lauren Weise said. “Watertown IHC is a very skilled, very fast team. Our underclassmen really stepped up and I think we played really well to finish our season.”
Skaneateles ends its season 11-7 overall.
GIRLS SWIMMING
West Genesee Invitational
The Maroons qualified four more swimmers for sectionals, as Emily Rifanburg qualified in two events in the team's last meet of the season.
Rifanburg made the sectionals cut in the 100 butterfly (1:12.69) and the 500 freestyle (6:16.0).
Also qualifying were Danielle Lang, a junior who swam her lifetime best time in the 200 IM with a three second drop finishing in 2:36.83 and sophomore Amanda Falsey also had a lifetime best time with a six second drop in the 200 IM finishing in 2:35.36. Robyn Clary qualified with her time in a leg of the 200 freestyle relay (27.89).
The Section III meet will start Thursday at Nottingham High School.
