Continuing their journey to defend their Section III, Class B title, the fifth-seeded Skaneateles boys soccer team added another victory, taking No. 4 seed Mount Markham 2-1 in the quarterfinals in Mount Markham Friday.
Kyle Baier and Kelly Donigan both posted one goal for the Lakers, while Spencer Parker finished with an assist.

Jake Bird tallied eight saves for Skaneateles, who led 1-0 at the half.

The Lakers will move on to face the No. 1 seed, Clinton in the semifinals, at a site and date yet undetermined.

With their only goal coming in the first half by Amanda Gray unassisted, the ninth-seeded Lakers fell to the No. 1 Cavaliers.

Erica Tardiff collected 11 saves in the effort for Skaneateles.

“They played a great game considering it was against the No. 1 seed,” Lakers coach Lauren Weise said. “Watertown IHC is a very skilled, very fast team. Our underclassmen really stepped up and I think we played really well to finish our season.”

Skaneateles ends its season 11-7 overall.
