Auburn volleyball tops Corcoran

Kaylee Hamberger had one ace and nine assists and Emily Felter finished with two aces, nine kills and one block as the Auburn volleyball team defeated Corcoran 3-1 Monday in Syracuse. The Maroons won 25-22, 18-25, 25-19 and 25-23.
Emily Jetty finished with one kill and one assist, Janiqua Fletcher had one ace, one kill and one assist, Taylor Acresti had one ace and Katie Brown had three kills, one assist and two blocks. Magnolia Brazak added one ace and Brianna Enge finished with three aces and two kills.

The Maroons (4-8) host West Genesee on Thursday.

BOYS SOCCER

Cicero-North Syracuse 6, Auburn 1

The Northstars led 4-0 at halftime and cruised in the second half.

Ian Miller scored the lone Maroons' goal on a pass from Caleb Maine-Brown.

Luke Collela had nine saves as Cicero-North Syracuse held the edge in shots, 12-4.

Moravia, incomplete

For Southern Springs, Devan Barta led the way in 13th place (19:39), while Zach Casper came in the 14th (19:49), Riley Shurtleff was 21st (20:27) JD Balloni came in 24th (20:48) and Ted Alnutt finished 31st (22:17).

For the Blue Devils, Alex Seaman came in 36th (23:43) and Richie Bertley was 41st (27:43).

Bishop Grimes/Bishop Ludden 18, Cato-Meridian 52

Thomas Klaben finished fourth overall (15:24) to lead the Blue Devils. Brett Ryan was sixth (15:51), Robert McClane took 11th (16:23), Larry Treasure placed 15th (18:24), TJ Nervina was 16th (18:39), Nick Treasure finished 17th (19:06) and Dan Gordan came in 18th (19:08).

For Southern Springs, Lynda Balloni came in sixth overall (21:26), which earned her first-team all-division accolades. Mary Miller was ninth (22:21) and Michelle Wilmot took 16th (24:26).

Jen McLaughlin was 14th (23:56) and was named a second-team division all-star, while Anna Martynova (24:08).

Bishop Grimes/Bishop Ludden 15, Cato-Meridian 40

Jordan Weir led the Blue Devils, finishing fourth (19:06), Jessica Bye was seventh (20:14) and Angelina Argese followed in eighth (20:15).

BOYS JV SOCCER

Red Creek 1, Auburn 0

The game was tied until the 27th minute of the second half, as Kyle Bresee, Jaime Kelly, Matt Trupiano and Gerry Zema played well on defense for the Maroons.

Trevor Fletcher finished with 11 saves.
