Pat Lattimore led the way for the Auburn boys cross country team, which placed third overall out of 13 teams at the East Syracuse-Minoa Invitational Saturday. Port Byron took ninth and Cato-Meridian finished 11th.
Lattimore took seventh place with a time of 17:30 while also running for the Maroons were Justin Middleton who finished 21st (18:38), Andy Schemerhorn came in 25th (18:46), Mike Henn followed behind in 26th (18:47) and Mike Piwinski finished in 36th (19:20).
Running for the Panthers were Christian Cobb who finished in 18th place (18:20), Mike Borst in 48th place (19:55), Zac Leja in 51st place (20:00), Demetri Milczakowskyj was 68th (21:33), Tyler Wellington followed behind in 69th (21:37), Matt Teabo was 72nd (22:03), Ray Cereo came in 92nd (24:40), Adam Hawker was 95th (25:25) and Rob Johnson finished 98th (26:16).
Finishing for Cato-Meridian were Tommy Klaben who was 15th overall (18:12), Brett Ryan in 44th (19:44) and Robert McClane followed in 45th (19:49).
Larry Treasure was 80th (23:19), Nick Treasure took 83rd (23:46) and Dan Gordan ended in 85th (23:48).
The Blue Devils will compete in the Weedsport Invitational Saturday, Auburn travels to Corcoran Wednesday and Port Byron has their final home meet of the season against Manlius Pebble Hill Wednesday.

ES-M Invitational
The Auburn girls cross country team had a strong third place finish at the East Syracuse-Minoa Invitational Saturday out of 13 teams, also competing in the invitational were Port Byron and Cato-Meridian who were both running with incomplete teams.
Running for the Maroons were Meghan Guzewicz (22:15), Kim Lupo (22:24), Kerry Lupo (22:36), Allyssa Morrissette (23:19) and Ashley Bunnell (24:21).
Jordan Weir led the way for the Blue Devils with a 14th place finish (22:26) while Jessica Bye took 45th (25:54).
Competing for the Panthers were Emma Jo Aversa who took 22nd (23:23), Heather Kurtz finished 39th (25:05), Kate Riley came in 46th (26:02) and Christina Rooker rounded it out in 49th place (26:23).
GIRLS SOCCER
Cazenovia 6, Jordan-Elbridge 3
Emily Dillon earned 17 saves for the Eagles, while the scoring was done by Tia Segretto who contributed one goal and one assist, Kelsey Soderberg and Mallory Snyder both posted one goal and Liz Caspari and Carrie-Jo Farrugia both finished with one assist.
Jordan-Elbridge travels to Skaneateles Tuesday.

Waverly 41, Southern Springs 20
Southern Springs remained scoreless until a fourth quarter rally that was too little, too late on Friday.
Leading Southern Springs were Brandon Winters who contributed 13 carries for a total of 172 yards and one touchdown, Shane Groom had 14 carries for 63 yards and two touchdowns and Nate Markham carried the ball seven times for a total of 16 yards.
Mark Delaney had eight carries for 23 yards.
Markham was 0-for-3 passing while defensively pacing Southern Springs were Groom with eight tackles and Michael Bean finished with seven tackles.
Southern Springs (2-4) hosts Trumansburg for homecoming Saturday.
