Cricket Communications has been fined by the Town of Brutus for not filing paperwork in a timely fashion over additions to the communications tower it uses in the town.
Cricket, one the companies that uses the telecommunications tower at 9053 Brutus-Mentz Townline Road in Brutus, failed to renew its building permit and was issued an appearance ticket for failing to comply with Brutus' Wireless Telecommunications Facilities Siting Law. The company agreed to pay a fine of $6,750 to satisfy the charges, pending the town justice's approval.
The town also reserved its right to issue another appearance ticket if Cricket continues to operate without a certificate of compliance, but the second ticket would be dismissed if Cricket meets the terms of the agreement it reached with the town.
