Youth Baseball: Marlins best Braves

The Children's Health Specialists Marlins topped Daut's Braves, 16-10 in Auburn Boys and Girls Baseball Wednesday.
The Marlins were led by Alyss Cook with four hits, while Logan Murphy and Sam Carbonaro both added three hits.

Kaleb Cook and E.J. Townsend both made double plays for the Marlins, while Jack Carbonaro also played well defensively.

The Braves were paced offensively by Grace Wiseman and Maura Mouchler while CJ Spisak and Owen Spearing put in hard efforts on defense.

NYSCOBA Brewers 16, Byrn's Trophy Shop Padres 14

The Brewers were led by Tyler Cook who slugged for three hits, two of which were doubles, Morgan Cook smacked three hits with one double, Olivia Morgan, AJ Williams and Jacob Sanders each contributed three hits, Gracie Morgan, Zach Dennis, Jakob Borza, Conor Maassen, Max Bergan and Oliva Maassen also added multiple hits while Aaron Kowal and Dominic Jones both added one hit.

Olivia Maassen made two fly ball put outs in the bottom of the fifth, one of which ended the game while Max Bergan made an unassisted double play and Kowal anchored the defense with his work behind the plate.

Jacob Coleman paced the Padres with three hits, including two triples and a double, Brian Love Jr., Kevin Stechuchak and William Coleman also collected three hits while Maeve Canty finished with two hits.

Reflections Dermatology Red Sox 25, First Niagara Rangers 20

Jack Bennink, Connor Mahunik, Baylee Kennedy and Zoe Wejko each recorded four hits and four runs to lead the Red Sox while Max Hayden, Johnathan LaDuca, Patrick Mahunik, Kalib Fassett and Kayla Mallory each finished with three hits and some runs scored.

The Rangers were led at the plate by Noah Marr and Etana Davis, who both tallied four hits while Kenny Davis and Cody Musso collected five hits each and played well defensively.

SANDLOT

Nucor 6, Byrne Dairy 5

Dan Kopp hit a grand slam in the second inning to lead Nucor, while also earning an RBI in the first.

On the mound for Nucor were Jordan Mitchell, who threw two innings, tallying six strikeouts while Shane Allen pitched three innings and finished with seven strikeouts.

Pacing Byrne Dairy were Mitch Fronce who smacked a sixth inning home run, Steve Ansteth recorded one double and Steve McCarthy had a notable defensive performance.
