The Auburn Doubledays were supposed to get a mid-season boost Tuesday at Tri-City, but the game was postponed due to rain.
So they'll have to wait one more day.
The Toronto Blue Jays transferred 2009 fourth-round pick (130th overall) Ryan Goins to Auburn from the Gulf Coast League Blue Jays. Goins is a shortstop out of Dallas Baptist University.
He is expected to join the Doubledays at Tri-City, and will become the team's highest draftee from 2009, replacing seventh-round selection Egan Smith.
At Dallas Baptist, Goins started and played in all 55 games, batting .371 with 70 RBIs and a team-high 22 home runs. He also had a .945 fielding percentage. The shortstop position has produced nine errors this season for Auburn, the most of any position.
The Doubledays (10-21) play Tri-City in a doubleheader tonight in Troy.
