AUBURN - The rain wasn't the only thing that made Leo Pinckney field at Falcon Park look sloppy on Tuesday night.

The Auburn Doubledays spotted the Jamestown Jammers seven runs on five hits in Auburn's 7-6 loss in 10 innings. Jamestown took the series with the help of five Doubledays errors. Auburn played extremely well early on, as Matt Wright went five lockdown innings in his first start of the season, throwing six strikeouts and continuing his streak of not walking a batter in three appearances. Offensively, the Doubledays racked up eight of their 11 hits in the first six innings as they mounted a 5-1 lead, thanks in part to a four-run fourth inning at the hands of Jammers starter Curtis Peterson. Peterson entered the game with a 15.75 ERA.

David Miller got the loss for the Doubledays, while Arquimedes Caminero earned the win. Both Jamestown and Auburn exercised six pitchers each.

The Doubledays relented three runs in the seventh and two more in the eighth, with the help of three of their total errors in that time frame. The team's five miscues were a team high. Jamestown wasn't perfect in the field either, collecting two errors in the nearly four-hour game.

Auburn closer Miller walked the first two batters in the 10th inning before giving up the eventual winning run when Sequoyah Stonecipher belted an RBI double in the fourth spot. The Doubledays made a valiant effort in the bottom of the inning, but after Eric Eiland and Welinton Ramirez flied out, Brad Glenn's deep double to center field became a distant hope at a win. Jimmy Gonzalez struck out swinging to end the rally attempt.

Glenn became a major offensive highlight, going 4-for-6 with two doubles, a stolen base and a run scored. Third baseman Randy Schwartz belted two singles and scored a run before leaving the game in the fifth inning with an apparent injury after sliding into second base.

The loss erases the slim one-game advantage the Doubledays had over the Jammers in the Pinckney Division standings. Now tied for last place, Auburn (4-7) heads to State College today for a three-game series.
