Owasco Lake quality advocates and supporters will be able to hear about current and future cleanup efforts tonight during the second Owasco Lake day.
Topics will include an update on the Owasco Watershed Lake Association action plan as well as the state of the watershed. There will also be exhibits from the office of the lake watershed inspector, county environmental health office, Cornell Cooperative Extension and other local organizations.
State Sen. Michael Nozzolio is scheduled to speak at the event, as is Dr. John Halfman of the Finger Lakes Institute, Bruce Natale of the county Water Quality Management Agency and SUNY Professor Peter Black.
Last year’s Owasco Lake Day drew about 500 people.
The event will take place from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Emerson Park pavilion.
