SYRACUSE — Say Yes to Education, its founder and two Syracuse companies will donate a total of more than $2.5 million to a scholarship fund covering tuition for Syracuse high school graduates at public colleges and universities in New York.
Officials announced the gifts Friday.

The companies making the donations are SRC, an R&D company formerly named Syracuse Research Corp., and the POMCO Group, a benefits administrator.

Manhattan-based Say Yes will donate an additional $1 million to the fund and founder George Weiss will contribute another $1 million.

The national nonprofit foundation runs scholarship programs at schools in Harlem, Philadelphia, Hartford and Cambridge, Mass. Syracuse is the first city to offer the program districtwide.
