AUBURN - For the second time in three seasons, the Auburn Doubledays home opener at Falcon Park has been postponed by rain.

The Doubledays' date with the defending New York-Penn League champion Batavia Muckdogs will be played as part of a doubleheader July 5, so now the Doubledays will look ahead to a four-game road trip, beginning today at 1:35 p.m. in Batavia.
Auburn wasn't the only New York-Penn League team washed out Saturday, as games between Brooklyn and Staten Island, Aberdeen and Hudson Valley, and Oneonta and Tri-City were also postponed.
Auburn had an unfortunate inning in Friday night's 6-1 loss to the Muckdogs, so the Doubledays will look to rebound from that.
After their trip to Batavia, the Doubledays will embark on a series with the Jamestown Jammers, who opened their season with a disappointing 6-5 loss to Mahoning Valley.
In what will now be their home opener, the Doubledays will host State College on Thursday, beginning a three-game set.
