NY Senate goes home, leadership undecided

ALBANY -- New York's Senate, still roiled by a power struggle, is closed for the weekend.
Democrats and Republicans are back in their home districts until Monday, which is scheduled to be the last day of the regular session this year.

A coalition of 30 Republicans and two dissident Democrats say they seized power in a legal vote on June 8, ousting the Democratic conference that won a majority in the November elections. But the Democrats say they had adjourned the session before the coalition's vote to take power.

Democrats are also expected to return to court next week to try get a court to decide who controls the Senate.

Leaders, however, may continue talks through the weekend.
