The Auburn Police Department is searching for seven people connected to the attack of a bicyclist in the area of the Mill Street dam last Friday.
Police said a white male teenager is believed to have struck a 47-year-old cyclist in the face with a blunt object at 6:39 p.m. The victim was then repeatedly kicked, possibly fracturing his eye socket, police said.

The victim and several witnesses described the assailant as being between 5 feet 6 and 5 feet 8 inches tall, police said.

Witnesses also reported that the teen was accompanied by four white males, a white female and one heavy set black male, who all fled on foot after the assault, police said. All suspects were wearing white T-shirts at the time.

Police ask anyone with any information regarding the assault to call Detective Christopher McLoughlin at 255-4706. Callers may remain anonymous.

" Jwiskers2, I agree.
the problems also are parents being afraid of their own kids, these typs of kids that did this, have their parents on a short leash! instead of the other way around!

another idea would be to HAVE the parents PAY all medical, and pain and suffering damages to the victim, beyond what small claims court allows!
maybe getting socked with thousands of dollars in damaages, they might possibly rethink their parenting skills! "

" Rmg,I just want to correct you on your comment. It was not 7 against one teenager. It was seven teenagers against one 47 year old. That is horrible by the way. The teenage kids need to have something to do. Also, the parents need to have better control of there children than what they have. Parents you are responsible for your childrens actions until they are 21,just in case you didn't know.I have heard it several times. I have beginning teenagers myself. It is hard. Parents need to be more involved.Know where they are hanging, invite the children over so you, yourself can know who they are hanging with also who there parents are. Get a friendship of some kind with each one of his friend's parents.Communication goes along way. That is the thing I have been doing. I think it is working pretty good at the moment. I know I will run into bumps in the road but I will get over them. "

" Seven against one teenager, nice group. I hope the court prosecutes these geniuses to the fullest extent of the law! This poor kid will think about this every day for the rest of his life, so should they! "
