SYRACUSE -- A former music teacher is guilty of sexually abusing a female student at an Onondaga Indian reservation school.
But 47-year-old Albert Scerbo was acquitted of sex charges involving a second student. The verdict was delivered Thursday by Onondaga County Judge William Walsh, who presided over a two-day non-jury trial.
Scerbo of Clay testified Wednesday and adamantly denied molesting any of his students.
Scerbo was previously convicted in 2007 of sexually abusing the same 7-year-old female student at the Onondaga Indian Nation School, 10 miles south of Syracuse. But Walsh set aside the conviction in November 2007 because of juror misconduct.
Scerbo was originally charged with sexually molesting 16 female students.
