The Cayuga County Sheriff's Office is investigating a string of daytime residential burglaries and suspicious person complaints in the Town of Ira.
According to a news release, a typical daytime burglary involves a person parking down the street and then knocking on doors or otherwise testing to see if people are home.
The sheriff's office is currently aware of the following complaints:
On May 19, residents of Bradt Road arrived home to find a white male on their deck looking in the windows.
The man was driving a gold colored mid-sized car which was parked 100 yards down the road.
On May 21, a witness reported a dark green Saturn or similar type vehicle possibly with Maryland license plates parked on the side of Emerick Road.
A white female operator who was waiting in the vehicle was later joined by two white males who had been out on foot.
On May 21, someone broke into a home on Center Road and stole prescription medication.
On May 22, Rt. 176 - forced entry to a home - about $200 in change and small electronic devices were stolen from a home that was forcibly entered and someone entered a Tindall Road home through an unlocked door and stole a large amount of change in a wine jug.
