I find it hard to believe that the ineffectual previous administration's spokesperson (Dick Cheney) has the gall to criticize President Obama's policy on torture and the closing of Gitmo. Has there ever been such an attack on an administration that is in the midst of fighting two wars left by the ones who are now criticizing him?
Thankfully Obama has been the anti-Bush and he has, in fewer than his first 100 days, reversed Bush policies by not only ending torture and ordering that Gitmo be closed, but by funding stem cell research, expanding SCHIP, signing a revised Equal Pay Act, and by ending travel restrictions to Cuba.
Obama also issued an order that once again allows full and complete family planning information to be provided overseas and he is currently revising procedures used for Military Tribunals by finally allowing the accused the right to due process.
Frankly, considering the dire need for our nation to regain its moral compass by abandoning our use of terrorists as role models, Obama had me at “no more torture!”
