CANAJOHARIE - New York officials say 128 jobs will be retained at a Mohawk Valley candy making plant with the help of about $1.5 million in state incentives.
The money will help the Richardson Brands Co. factory buy a new boiler. Richardson currently relies on steam generated from the nearby Beech-Nut plant to cook candy and heat the building. With Beech-Nut moving to a new facility nearby, Richardson had said it would have to take its operation to Connecticut without the state's help in buying a new boiler.
They now plan to add 15 new jobs.
