Why not put city money into city theater

Wednesday, May 27, 2009 11:45 PM EDT

If the city wants to tear down the “old” Kalet's building, fine; but I don't think another theater is needed, as we already have one. It's called the Schines.
If the city has money to invest in a theater, let them put it in an existing theater. I imagine our city manager and the council will have other ideas.

" Picture this San Antonio Walk way, this is what then Mayor Lattimore had in mind and sold the comcept and the city set out to achieve that goal. What happen next and to achieve that goal is history. "

" When they(who ever) burned down Osborne St. and then Market St. in the early 60s to justify the arterial, should have finished the job and burned down all of downtown Auburn and started from scratch. "

" Better yet tear down the Kalet building and sell the lot. Don't put any money in the Schine Theater and use the money for something useful. "
