FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - Cortland State held Gettysburg scoreless for 38 minutes and Brandon Misiaszek scored a career-high five goals to give the Red Dragons a 9-7 victory in the NCAA men's Division III lacrosse championship on Sunday.
Le Moyne had a chance to give central New York a lacrosse sweep, but the Dolphins lost 8-7 to C.W. Post in the Division II national title game.
Gettysburg (16-4) got two goals from Kyle McGrath in taking a 4-2 lead in the first quarter, but Cortland (19-2) then scored seven unanswered goals in a span that lasted until the fourth quarter at Gillette Stadium.
Misiaszek scored twice to tie it 4-all at halftime and the Red Dragons added five goals in the third quarter to take a 9-4 lead.
Misiaszek, who scored 31 goals this season, was named the game's outstanding player. Brian Krol had two goals for Cortland, which won the Division III title for the second time in its sixth trip to the final. Gettysburg lost in the final for the third time in three tries.
Tom O'Donnell finally scored for Gettysburg to make it 9-5 with 10 minutes left. Zach Pucci's second goal of the game made it 9-6 with four minutes left and Joe Brody narrowed it to 9-7 with 26 seconds remaining.
Auburn's Matt Hoey is a freshman midfielder for the Red Dragons.
In the Division II title game, Greg Cerar scored four second-half goals for C.W. Post and goalie Dan Sciulla made 13 saves, seven in the fourth quarter, to give the Pioneers (15-1) their second NCAA lacrosse title. They won their first in 1996.
The Dolphins (16-1) were making their fourth straight trip to the Division II final, having won it all in 2004, 2006 and 2007.
Auburn's Matt Chadderdon (one assist) and Matt Foster played in the game for Le Moyne.

Cerar then scored two more, the second coming on a great rush with just 2 seconds left in the third quarter. The second of Jack Harmatuk's three goals brought Le Moyne back within 7-6 and the Dolphins stormed the C.W. Post net, but Cera scored his fourth on a great give-and-go with Loftus with 1:28 left.
Harmatuk's third goal made it 8-7 18 seconds later, but LeMoyne couldn't get another shot past Sciulla.
