UPDATE PART II: Thruway reopened between exits 39 and 40

The state Thruway Authority says the westbound lanes of the Thruway have reopened between exits 39 and 40.
Traffic was backed up about three miles after a tractor-trailer accident this afternoon. The highway was closed for several hours leading up to rush hour.
