One man was hospitalized with a stab wound to his hand after a pedestrian allegedly walked up to the vehicle he was riding in and attacked him Saturday night, the Auburn Police Department said.
Police have accused Frank Pilot Jr., 48, of 189 Genesee St., apartment 1B, Auburn, of getting into a verbal argument with the vehicle's occupants and of punching at the occupants through an open window after they stopped near Arterial East and North Fulton Street at 11:21 p.m.
During the altercation, police said, a 22-year-old man suffered a laceration to his hand that officers believe may have been caused by a knife, police said.
The victim was treated and released from Auburn Memorial Hospital.
When the occupants exited the vehicle, Pilot allegedly fled the scene, police said.
Pilot was found a short time later, but officers could not find a knife, police said.
Pilot was arraigned in Auburn City Court on second-degree assault and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, both felonies, and remanded to the Cayuga County Jail in lieu of bail, which was set at $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond.
