SYRACUSE -- Syracuse is getting another American Basketball Association franchise.
ABA CEO Joe Newman says the team will be called the Syracuse ShockWave and will begin play in 2010.

The owner is Charles Iavarone, who's currently serving a combat tour in Iraq and is due back in the United States in September.

This will be the league's second attempt since 2007 to place a team in Syracuse. Two years ago, the Syracuse Raging Bullz lasted six games. Its failure was blamed on the owner's inability to gauge the Syracuse market.
