PALERMO -- State police say a motorcyclist has been injured after colliding with a turkey on a central New York road.
Troopers say 22-year-old Eric Cummis of Palermo was driving on Route 3 in his hometown, 23 miles north of Syracuse, when a turkey flew into his path around 6:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Police say the turkey hit the motorcycle just above the front wheel and Cummis lost control of the bike, which slid off the road.
Police say Cummis was taken to University Hospital in Syracuse with injuries that aren't life threatening.
