Students back at NYC school after swine flu scare

NEW YORK -- Students are being welcomed back to St. Francis Preparatory School as if they've been on spring break.
But they can't help but be reminded of the reason it was closed. Swine flu sickened perhaps as many as 1,000 people associated with the Queens high school. It had 45 confirmed cases, the bulk of the confirmed cases in New York City.

Ariana Dindiyal says the week off was no vacation. The 16-year-old felt fine, and kept up with work through the school's Web site. She and other students arriving Monday were nonchalant.

On Long Island, the Deer Park Union Free School District is closed until May 10 because of three probable cases. In Syracuse, Ed Smith Elementary School is closed with a probable case.
