Two Auburn men were charged with burglary Monday after they were accused of stealing metal materials from an abandoned Miller Street home, the Auburn Police Department said.
James Greer, 23, of 20 Logan St., apartment C, and William Borza, 20, of 886 Church St., were arrested after a resident reported two suspicious people near the abandoned home, police said.
When officers apprehended the men at about 2 p.m. they were throwing metal materials over a fence into a nearby backyard, police said.
The men are accused of stealing 21 pieces of aluminum siding, one metal door and pieces of electrical wiring, police said.
Both men are charged with third-degree felony burglary, misdemeanor petit larceny and misdemeanor criminal mischief. Borza is also charged with misdemeanor possession of a weapon for having a gravity blade.
Both men were arraigned in Auburn City Court where Borza's bail was set at $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond and Greer's bail was set at $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond.
