Not much separated Skaneateles' Christie Barnett and Jordan-Elbridge's Nicole Darling in the 800m. And all it took was a new track record to get the win.

Barnett (2:24.3) edged out Darling (2:25.6) in record time to take the first-place finish at the third annual Jordan-Elbridge Invitational Saturday at Jordan-Elbridge High School. The Lakers' Carly Strodes finished fifth (2:31.8) in the event.
In addition to the 800m, Barnett also won the 400m hurdles (67.5).
The Lakers' 4x800 relay team took first with Rachel Hosie, Beatrice Walton, Amanda Gray and Grace Vanderven finishing in 9:48.3. In the 4x100m relay, Skaneateles' Victoria Sakal, Kaela Fiutar, Carley Baulick and Cassie Berg also took first (53.2).
Brae Kriever, of Skaneateles, placed first in the long jump (20-.25) and second in the 200m (23.4). Kriever, Calvin Davis, Sean Cooper and Patrick Rooney won the 4x400m relay for the Lakers in 3:36.6.
The Lakers' Madison Eckles won the pole vault with a 9-6. Sakal earned second in the 100m (12.8), while Melissa Zajdel, of Christian Brothers Academy, finished first and set a new track record with a 12.3. Sakal took third in the 200m (27.0), while Zajdel also set a track record with a 25.5. Eileen Ford placed second in the 400m (62.5) and sixth in the triple jump (28-4.25).
Skaneateles' Caroline Walton came in third (86-4) in the discus, while VanDerven took fourth in the long jump (14-4.25).
Ryan Taylor, of Oswego, set a new track record of 57.7 in the 400m hurdles. Rooney finished third in the 400m hurdles (59.1) and Cooper took sixth (62.1). Cooper also came in second in the 110m hurdles (16.1), while Rooney finished fourth in the triple jump (40-5.75).
Skaneateles' John Turose placed third in the pole vault (10-0).
Davis finished third in the 800m (2:05.6), while the Eagles' Mike Marrero came in fifth (2:08.6). Kriever, Xander Edwards, Turose and Tim Lewis finished fourth in the 4x100m relay (47.2).
The Eagles' Cody Stanton finished first in the 3,200m with a time of 9:56.2. He also took fifth place in the 1,600m (4:52.7).
Andrew Conlan, Cody Griffin, Nick Byrnes and Kyle Becker finished fifth for the Eagles in the 4x100m relay (47.8).
Conlan also came in sixth in the 200m (24.5) and the discus (104-1).
The Eagles' McKenzie Williams, Julia Conlan, Sam Raker and Kayla Backes finished sixth in the 4x100m relay (56.8).
