HIT: To the Auburn Beautification Committee and the Cornell Cooperative Extension which are teaming up to put a butterfly and hummingbird garden at Hoopes Park in Auburn.
Hoopes Park is already known as one of the prettiest places in the area to take a walk or just sit back and relax.
This new improvement will make the park even better and give more people a good reason to come and enjoy the outdoors on a warm summer evening.
HIT: To the Rebekahs, a group founded on friendship, love and truth, who gathered donations for the hungry earlier this week.
Standing at the intersection of Routes 34 and 90 in Genoa, the group solicited donations from passersby for the United Church of Genoa's food pantry.
In a day's hard work, they gathered almost $500 in donations to help the pantry. In these tough economic times, food pantries are valuable aids in combating hunger.
The funds the Rebekahs raised will go a long way in helping.
MISS: To another crime caught on tape.
Last week, there were incidents at Wegmans and Denny's that cameras captured, with one suspect being quickly apprehended,
Now, a Fleming convenience store was burglarized and a suspect was again caught in the act. Hopefully, the camera will again help lead to another capture and conviction of a crook.
HIT: To some national publicity of a planned cheese factory in Aurelius.
CNN is airing a report on the plans for Saratoga's Cheese to build a factory which would, if built, create new jobs.
The report is part of a series on good economic news. The cheese company's owners are seeking investors to help them get the plant built.
Maybe this report will be the jump start their efforts need to get the funds needed.
