NORTH TONAWANDA -- Police in a Buffalo-area city have shot and killed a coyote after it attacked a man.
Authorities in North Tonawanda, in Niagara County just north of Buffalo, say police officers shot the coyote after it attacked a 31-year-old man as he walked along a road late Wednesday night.
The man wasn't injured. The coyote will be tested for rabies.
The incident occurred two days after a coyote bit a man walking in North Tonawanda late Monday night. County health officials say that man will have to undergo rabies shots.
Two other coyote attacks against people have been reported in North Tonawanda in the past three weeks.
It's not known if the coyote killed Wednesday was the one involved in the previous incidents.
