BUFFALO -- The calendar says spring but the weather isn't cooperating in western New York, where there's several inches of new snow as a cold front sweeps across the region.
The National Weather Service reports 4 inches of snow in Perrysburg in Cattaraugus (kat-uh-RAW'-gus) County and 2 inches in Warsaw in neighboring Wyoming County. The weather service says Buffalo had received about 1.5 inches Tuesday morning, giving the city 100 inches of snow for the 2008-2009 winter season.
Forecasters say areas near the shores of lakes Erie and Ontario could get up to 5 inches of lake-effect snow Tuesday, with the Tug Hill Plateau off the eastern end of Lake Ontario likely to receive an additional 6 to 12 inches Tuesday night.
No school closings or major traffic problems were reported.
