Auburn natives Brian Hoey and Andrew Kott, seniors on the Clarkson men's lacrosse team, have been a key part to the Golden Knights' early-season success.
Clarkson is 5-2 overall and 1-0 in the Liberty League. It's currently riding a three-game win streak and starting to receive votes in the latest USILA Division III national poll.
In the Golden Knights' 11-4 victory over Vassar College Saturday, Hoey recorded an assist and two ground balls while Kott had a team-high six ground balls.
Hoey, a four-year starter, is Clarkson's third leading scorer this spring with 15 points on three goals and 12 assists. He's amassed 106 career points for the Golden Knights on 49 goals and 57 assists. He was an Liberty League honorable mention choice in 2008.
Kott, a team captain, anchors a defense that has allowed just 90 shots on goal through seven games. He is the Golden Knights' leader in ground balls with 32 and was named Liberty League Co-Defensive Performer of the Week on March 10. He was also a first-team Liberty League all-star in 2008.
