The Auburn Police Department charged two men with felony burglary Friday as part of an investigation into a break-in at the Auburn Doubledays Falcon Park.
Police charged James A. Adler, 20, of 536 Route 31 Montezuma; and Chad A. Kalet, of 58 Seymour St., Apt. 1, Auburn, with third-degree burglary and petit larceny.
Police were dispatched to Falcon Park on Sunday after a passerby saw people running to a vehicle carrying baseball bats and other items, according to police, and that witness called Police and gave a very accurate description of the fleeing suspect vehicle.
After Police put out a press release requesting the publics assistance identifying the vehicle and suspects involved, the two involved suspects turned themselves in after hearing news reports concerning the burglary.
Police said they were not able to recover the stolen property because it was discarded and deemed to be unrecoverable.
Police did not immediately release Kalet's age or explain why the stolen property could not be recovered.
Adler and Kalet were arraigned in Auburn City Court Friday and remanded to the custody of the Cayuga County Jail on $1,000 cash bail or $2,000 bond.
