Trevor Hogan hit 5-of-6 free throws in the final two minutes as the St. Alphonsus II basketball team won the fifth and sixth grade CYO championship, holding off regular-season champion St. Francis 27-24.
St. Francis came back from a double-digit deficit to tie the game 22-22 with two minutes remaining before Hogan sealed with win from the free-throw line.
Hogan led St. Alphonsus with 13 points, Jack Hogan and Max Hogan scored six points apice and Ben Pinchak had two.
Carly Ryan and Emily Lawton each had five rebounds while St. Alphonsus was led defensively by Chris Newert and Pinchak. Other team members include Catherine Buddelmann, Liam Cuddy, Richie McConnell and Hannah Newert.
St. Francis was led by Matt Faiola with 12 points, while John Brown and Luke Morris contributed four points each.
SS. Peter and Paul 28, Sacred Heart 23
SS. Peter and Paul's Kent Wrobel scored eight points and Haley Pysnack led the defense. For Sacred Heat, Kenny Sargent scored eight points and Celina Rescott played well on defense.

Faiola scored 11 points in the win and Luke Morris led the defense.
Scott Smith scored seven points in the loss and Kent Wrobel led the defense.

Union Springs was led by Samantha Walawender with 13 points and Jamison Valentino, Amanda Albino and Stella Anderson with four points each.
Connor Coleman added two points, while Nicole Marquart and Tori Trufant led the defense.
FIFTH GRADE BOYS
Ron Case Construction 30, Jordan-Elbridge II 16
JJ O'Connor scored 15 points and Shaun Feguson had 11 for Ron Case.
Jordan-Elbridge was led by Brandon Suslik (seven).
Weaver Machine 37, DB's Drive In 19
Weaver was led by Spenser Lincoln (10) and Brian Cunningham (nine), while Jake Lamphere (11) sparked DB's.
SIXTH GRADE BOYS
Auburn I 52, J&B Installations 19
Nick Petrosino (two 3-pointers) and Kevin DiCola scored 14 points each for Auburn. Joe Tozzi added nine points and Ryan Dailey had seven.
Dom Emmert also sparked Auburn.
James Sheehan and Austin Napolitano had six points each for J&B.
Auburn II 53, Southern Cayuga 17
Auburn's Patrick LaDouce scored 18 points, Terry Daniels had 14, Connor Finizio had 11 and David Rosekrans led the defense.
Southern Cayuga's Steve Farkas added 10 points.
SEVENTH GRADE BOYS
Pitstop Convenience Stores 49, Butler Sales & Service 41
Brad Wasilenko had eight points and Mike Taylor added nine points and led the defense in the win.
For Butler, Tyler Dixon poured in 31 points and Justin Porter scored four.
EIGHTH GRADE BOYS
AgTrac Southern Cayuga 69, Jordan-Elbridge 40
Southern Cayuga was paced by Mike Killian (22 points), Dylan Haskell (13), Mike May (11) and Pat Shutter (10).
Garrett Merrill scored 12 points in the loss.
Adam Fritz Construction 56, Skaneateles 35
Leading Adam Fritz were Matt Pelc (18), Joe Yorio (eight) and Brier Wightman (seven).
Jordan Sission (18) and Nick Embrato (eight) paced Skaneateles.

Auburn was led by Luke Boddicker (14), Kareef Rufus (13) Rob Relfe (defense) and Luke Reister (rebounding).
