The Skaneateles and Cato-Meridian boys basketball teams will be hosting the first round of the playoffs, while the Weedsport girls' squad will also enjoy the comforts of home.

Five local boys teams and four local girls teams will participate in the Section III tournament, which kicks off this week.
On the boys side, the Blue Devils (13-7) earned the seventh seed in Class C-1 and will host No. 10 Little Falls (9-11) at 7 p.m. on Tuesday. Cato-Meridian defeated Little Falls in the first round of the postseason last year.
Also in Class C-1, Port Byron (9-11) earned the 11th spot and will travel to face No. 6 Faith Heritage (14-6) at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
In Class C-2, Weedsport (11-9) nabbed the fifth spot and will travel to play No. 4 Fabius Pompey on Thursday.
In Class B-1, No. 5 South Jefferson (11-9) will face fourth-seeded Skaneateles (12-8) on Thursday, while in Class AA, Auburn (10-9) earned the 10th spot after going 1-6 to finish the regular season.
The Maroons will travel to play No. 7 Central Square on Tuesday.
In girls basketball, Skaneateles (1-19) earned the ninth seed and will face No. 8 Holland Patent (4-16) at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The winner of that game will face top-ranked South Jefferson (17-2) on Feb. 24.
In Class B-2, Jordan-Elbridge (10-10) earned the seventh seed and will play No. 2 Clinton (16-4) on Feb. 24.
Seventh-seeded Port Byron (8-11) will see No. 2 Clinton (14-6) on Feb. 24 in Class C-1, while in Class C-2, Weedsport (14-6) earned the No. 4 seed and a first-round bye and will host Beaver River at 6 p.m. on Friday.
