THERESA -- A state judge has ordered the seizure of more than 100 vehicles from a northern New York auto dealership for breaking a financing agreement with GMAC.
GMAC filed a lawsuit in December claiming DealMaker Seaway Chevrolet owed it $2.4 million for setting up the business. GMAC says DealMaker defaulted on its wholesale agreement in September by failing to pay $273,169 to GMAC from proceeds it took in from the sale or lease of vehicles.
DealMaker's owners say they should be given more time to weather a downturn in the automotive sales sector. Spokesman David Grandeau says the dealership remains open while DealMaker considers its options.
Judge Hugh Gilbert ordered the cars to be transferred to GMAC on Friday.
