A structure fire early Saturday morning resulted in the demolition of a vacant house in Auburn.
The Auburn Fire Department received a call at 3:37 a.m. about a fire at 3 Fort St., Auburn. When firefighters arrived on scene, the fire was so extreme that firefighters did an exterior attack, an AFD official said. The building was believed to be unoccupied when the fire started.
Firefighters got the fire under control shortly before 7 a.m.
During the day Saturday, a crew from Vitale Companies demolished the remains of the house.
A firefighter sustained a wrist injury and was taken to Auburn Memorial Hospital, where he was treated and released.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
