The top scorer in the nation, Caitlyn Dillard, scored 27 points for the Cayuga Community College women's basketball team as they defeated Corning Community College 74-60, Tuesday.
On top of her 27 points, Dillard also assisted five shots and had eight steals. Corissa Quattrini finished with 18 points and a team-high 10 rebounds, while Arielle LeBlanc had 10 points. Shakeema Green finished with four points, nine assists and six steals.
“We're very excited with our success,” Spartans coach Jim Alberici said. “It's not easy to play in Corning and we're just glad to get out of there with the win.”
The Spartans are coming off of another huge win as they defeated then-No. 4 Onondaga Community College over the weekend. They recorded 45 points in the second half and only four of them came from Dillard.
“We proved to everyone that we work as a team,” Alberici said. “It's a big confidence win for us.”
