Thank You Mrs. Margery Eadie!
The residents of Cayuga County lost a remarkable lady Dec. 28, 2008. Margery Eadie was truly devoted to improving the lives of those affected by Alzheimer's and the lives of their caregivers.
After moving to Auburn in December 1991, four months after my husband's Alzheimer's diagnosis, I reached out to Mrs. Eadie and the support group. She was a wealth of information, so gentle and a careful listener. She called often and encouraged us all through the hard times we had at present and ahead. The group grew and fulfilled a special need in our community. Mrs. Eadie worked tirelessly and stood beside each and every one of us.
She developed the Gordon Eadie Day Care Center, under her husband's name. It gave my husband a continued feeling of fellowship, activities and especially to Walt, a chance to sing and forget about his disease. Mrs. Eadie set the high standards of love and caring for the center. The staff was so special.
Her health forced her to leave this area to be near family. She is missed greatly by many. God Bless You, Margery. You will always be in our hearts and prayers.
