EAST GREENBUSH, N.Y. -- A stretch of Interstate-90 outside of Albany is closed as authorities investigate a police shooting.
A large contingent of state and local police converged on the scene at around noon Saturday after a lone gunman allegedly shot at police and traffic in the town of East Greenbush. New York State Police Sgt. Mark Daniels says the shooter was a passenger in a taxicab.

Daniels says the man was arrested and taken to an area hospital with gunshot wounds. It wasn't immediately clear if police shot him or if he shot himself. No police were shot.

A witness tells the Albany Times Union that police told other drivers in the area to run from their cars during the incident.

I-90 is was expected to remain closed in both directions between exits 10 and 11 for several hours.
