MOHAWK -- Three Mohawk Valley teenagers have been charged after a fourth teen was shot in the face during what authorities described as a deliberate "Old-West shootout."
Montgomery County Sheriff Michael Amato says the incident occurred last Saturday at a camp in the town of Mohawk, 35 miles northwest of Albany.
Amato says five teenage males originally intended to go rabbit hunting, but instead decided to shoot at each other with shotguns.
A 15-year-old boy was struck in the face by shotgun pellets. Amato says he was taken to an Albany hospital and is expected to recover.
The two 18-year-olds are charged with assault and reckless endangerment. A 16-year-old not involved in the shooting is accused of altering the crime scene.
Amato says another 15-year-old boy also was involved.
