An Auburn man accused of robbing a taxi driver was arrested by the Auburn Police Department on Tuesday after he turned himself in to authorities in Syracuse, police said. Police charged Nicholas A. Sosow, 36, of 35 Quill Ave., apartment B10, with robbery in the third-degree, a felony.
Sosow is accused of robbing cash from the driver and threatening to shoot them in the face during the Dec. 6 incident, police said.
In a separate investigation, the state police in Aurelius charged Samantha A. Mitchell, 29, of 22 Hoffman St., Auburn, with one count of identity theft.
Mitchell is accused of opening several credit card accounts in an acquaintance's name and using them at several stores in Cayuga County, troopers said. Troopers believe Mitchell made at least $500 in purchases with the credit cards since December 2007.
The APD also picked up Camille A. Racona, 19, of 6160 E. Lake St., Auburn, after she turned herself in on a warrant for fourth-degree grand larceny, a felony, and criminal possession of stolen property, a misdemeanor.
