Though it's not supposed to match the intensity of the winter weather that hit Cayuga County on New Year's Eve, some accumulating snow showers are on their way tonight and Saturday, the National Weather Service reports.
The forecast for Friday afternoon calls for a 50 percent chance of snow, with less an inch possible. Tonight is supposed to bring 1 to 3 inches of snow, with the probability pegged at 90 percent for precipitation. Another 1 to 3 inches is forecasted for Saturday.
The 11.2 inches that fell in Auburn on Wednesday set a record for that date. For the month of December, Auburn had 38.3 inches of snow, the NWS reported.
