The chairwoman of the Town of Sennett's Assessment Review Board resigned, citing residency issues as the reason.
In a written letter e-mailed to the town dated Wednesday, Dec. 31, Karen Green stated that she will resign from the position because it requires her to be a resident of the town.
Green, who owns property on Taylor Road in Sennett, also works for the city of Auburn as human resources director. Her contract with the city also requires that she be a resident of Auburn.
Her residency came into question this week amid reports about the Sennett property that she owns being exempt from paying taxes because of decisions the assessment review board has been making.
