Bush must not be pardoned for all he's done wrong

Wednesday, December 31, 2008 10:15 PM EST

Mr. Bush has been quoted as saying that he is “disinclined” to issue pardons to himself and his administration.
This “non-denial” is something to consider seriously.

This lame duck president has had the privilege of the office long enough. Please do not allow him to pardon himself and his administration. That would compound his criminality. He is already an embarrassment to this country.

He must be held accountable for the terrible things he has done. He sent our young people into harm's way and got more than 3,000 killed unnecessarily.

He deprived the nation of Habeas Corpus and perpetuated lies. If he is pardoned what is to keep another future president from doing something similar?

Congress must act, it is their function to do so!

" karl & fg,

1> On this Iraq War thing, here is a news flash. We have won. 25 million humans liberated. 2> Bush never lied, he simply acted on the Clinton policy of regime change in Iraq using the best available intelligence from all the world's intelligence agencies and about 15 UN resolutions. 3> With respect to torture, there never was any. You can't produce as much as a single severed finger. Your BDR (Bush Derangement Syndrome) can be cured but the cure is painful - it is called truth. "

" The best way to support our troops is to bring them home and stop wasting their lives, limbs and mental health in a pointless, unwinnable war that is NOT in our best interests or theirs.

Democrats and Republicans are idiots alike -- I take no sides on that one and still think Bush and Cheney are criminals. "

" I am glad that I got a response on the 90% remark BECAUSE I WAS TRYING TO GET PATRIOTISM AND MORE SUPPORT FOR OUR SOLDIERS. As far as the grammar error goes---I am a one handed, use of two fingers- typist; therefore, I think faster than I can type. As far as Bush goes---the situation to seek justice IS TOO POLITICAL BECAUSE THE BOTTOM LINE WILL BE THE DEMO'S AGAINST THE REPUBLICANS ON ALL ISSUES INVOLVED AND THAT IS THE BOTTOM LINE ON HOW THE SITUATION WILL END. True, more people seek the military life because the economy warrants the long term investment for the future. NO, I have not been under a rock for the past eight years, but rather been supportive of our elected officals and VOTE TO REPLACE THOSE I DISAGREE WITH, another bottom line issue of mine. "

" Ninety percent of America's soldiers as there (I guess you mean "are there?") for the money and retirment benefits.

Oh, now that's very noble, and it's a good argument why Bush and Cheney are not criminals -- are you saying they are not criminals because they are giving a small group of Americans the opportunity to risk their lives for good pay and benefits?!?!?? On a war that has made us debt-slaves to China so they can dump their dangerously poorly-made products on our market and drive American companies out of business?

Cheeko, you make zero sense at all. "

" Lying to the American people to get us into a pointless and unwinnable war which has helped drive our entire economy down the tubes, ruining thousands of people's lives is not criminal?!?? Guess again.

And let's not forget the sanctioning of torture on prisoners who have not been charged with anything, much less had a fair trial and been found guilty of anything.

That's just for starters. "

" cheeko--have you been in your bunker for the last 8 years?

Have you conveniently overlooked the illegal war, and the illegal wiretapping? Oh, and uh, don't forget that nasty little inconvenient thing called "Torture"--that's not just against American law, that's against INTERNATIONAL Law! Bush and Cheney are therefore INTERNATIONAL War Criminals.

We, and the rest of the world should act with haste to arrest, indict, and try these scums, and all their sycophantic hanger-ons who were in on the plot to bring dictatorship to America with the ruse of "Terror".

Honestly man, you must be living in some drug-spawned mental utopia? "
