The Jordan-Elbridge boys basketball team recorded its first victory of the season at the Red Creek Holiday Tournament on Monday. The Eagles were led by Tom Graf, who earned 12 points, seven boards and four assists in a 53-52 victory over Red Creek.
Trailing most of the game, Jordan-Elbridge was down 29-23 at the half and rallied back in the fourth.
Also scoring for the Eagles were Teddy Hart who contributed 10 points, Mitch Merrill with eight points, Bobby Gallagher tallied seven points in his first start, Jeff Donofrio collected six rebounds, and Matt Simmons posted six points including the game-winning free throw.
The Eagles (1-5) play Hannibal in the championship game today.
Moravia 69, Solvay 55
Pat Mott led the Blue Devils with 18 points, 13 rebounds and four assists at the Skaneateles Holiday Classic.
Also scoring for Moravia were Jeremy Stewart who earned 15 points and 10 rebounds, while Greg Pasho collected nine points.
The Blue Devils (5-1) play Skaneateles in the championship game today.
Skaneateles 65, Onondaga 42
Nick Pesarchick led the Lakers with 16 points and 12 rebounds in the Skaneateles Holiday Classic.
The Lakers move on to the championship game to face Moravia today.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Tully 60, Jordan-Elbridge 49
Aimee Briggs and Liz Caspari led the Eagles, collecting 12 points apiece.
Also scoring for Jordan-Elbridge were Kate Dungey with 10 points and two 3-pointers, Kelsey Richardson tallied seven points, Sam Davis contributed six points and Erin McLaughlin added two points.
The Eagles face Phoenix today in the consolation game of the Jordan-Elbridge Holiday Tournament.
HOCKEY
Cicero-North Syracuse 4, Auburn 3 OT
Andrew Chadderdon scored the first two goals for the Maroons, while Matt Festa earned two assists and Connor Entenmann and Nick Herlihy both contributed one assist.
The third goal was scored by Brandyn Morgan off a pass from Brad Murdoch to put Auburn up 3-2 in the third period. Cicero-North Syracuse scored with less than four minutes left to tie it up and push the game into overtime.
On an Auburn power play, the Northstars got a shorthanded goal for the victory. Steve Komanecky recorded 20 saves for the Maroons.
Auburn (2-10) faces Pennfield as it hosts the Savannah Bank/City of Auburn Tournament Friday.
VOLLEYBALL
Hannibal Holiday Tournament
During the round-robin Hannibal Tournament, Jordan-Elbridge took two games from Port Byron 25-17, 28-26, split with Phoenix 25-19, 25-17, and fell to Hannibal 8-25, 20-25.
With a 3-3 mark, the Eagles moved on to the consolation match to face Phoenix. The Eagles earned a victory for third place, topping the Firebirds 25-22, 29-31, 23-25, 25-20, 25-17.
Leading Jordan-Elbridge in their final match were Erika Peterson with five kills, two aces and six digs, Alicia Andrianos earned seven kills, six aces, one assist and one block, Carey Harvey contributed a team-high 14 assists and three aces, Lindsy Geery recorded a team-high seven aces to go along with her 10 assists and seven digs, Lisa Kimak led the team in kills with nine and added two blocks, Sam Lewis finished with five aces, Katie Bard added a season-high six kills, Breanna Peters tallied four aces and two kills while Alicia Norfolk played strong in the back row with 11 digs and one ace.
Peterson was also named to the all-tournament team.
The Eagles (4-5) host Skaneateles Jan. 6.
