A man who spent the past two years evading justice was sentenced in Cayuga County Court on Wednesday to a year in jail for groping a female guard at the Auburn Correctional Facility.
Cayuga County District Attorney Jon Budelmann said Teddy Osorio, 40, was arrested by state troopers on Dec. 16 after he had fled to the Bronx following his conviction for forcible touching, a misdemeanor.
Osorio was serving a 6- to 18-year prison sentence for manslaughter when he groped the guard.
When his prison sentence maxed out on June 5, 2006, Budelmann said Osorio was transferred to the Cayuga County Jail to face the charges of forcible touching and obstructing governmental administration for attacking a correctional officer.
While free on $3,000 bail, Osorio fled the county when he was convicted by a jury of forcible touching, Budelmann said.
Charges are still pending for obstructing governmental administration in Sennett and bail jumping.
