The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for the region, including all of Cayuga County, from midnight through noon Wednesday.
The agency said a weather system will bring accumulating snow to the area late Tuesday night, but the heaviest snow will take place in a three- to four-hour period around daybreak. About 2 to 4 inches of snow are expected by daybreak, with storm totals of 3 to 6 inches by the time snow tapers off Wednesday afternoon.
Cold and blustery conditions are also expected after the storm, with gusts of up to 35 mph predicted.
