An Auburn woman was charged Thursday with driving while intoxicated after an off-duty Auburn police officer spotted her vehicle jumping a curb, according to the Auburn Police Department.
After observing Mary Vadney, 61, of 205 Seymour St., Auburn, hit and go over a curb with her car, the officer called 911 around 3 p.m. Thursday to dispatch an officer to the scene, Auburn Police Department officials said. Vadney was stopped near the intersection of Linn Avenue and Highland Street, where she failed a field sobriety test, police said. No breathalyzer test was administered.
She was charged with DWI and released. Vadney is due in Auburn City Court Jan. 5.
